Local Facade Grant

The Houma Downtown Development Corporation/Main Street program rests upon four (4) elements, that create a positive, marketable identity for downtown: organization, promotion, physical improvements, and economic restructuring.  The purpose of this grant is to create a positive marketable image for downtown by repairing and rehabilitating commercial buildings. Grants are to be made to owners or lessees of historic buildings, which are used for businesses or offices in the downtown area.  To read over the local grant application or download it, click here.

State Facade Grant

The Louisiana Main Street Facade Grant is a program that is intended to be a catalyst for the rehabilitation of the exteriors of historic commercial buildings located within the downtown areas of designated Louisiana Main Street cities.  Awarded on an annual basis, the reimbursable grant requires that a matching amount be provided by the property owner or tenant, and the project is reviewed by the Louisiana Division of Historic Preservation to ensure conformance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation.  For more information please contact Michael Wyatt, Main Street Design Coordinator at mwyatt@crt.state.la.us or by calling 225-342-6762.
